Project Life: February pages

yes yes ... I am wildly behind on the whole thing.
I am finding it harder then I expected to find the time to put the pages togehter.

But I am all up to date on printing my photo's. Whoop whoop!
Now to find the time to make lovely spreads with them...

With no further ado I present to you my february spreads.

My first running adventure, Thursday 3 with a special apperance from Thunder and how we where a 2 car household for a day..

My first bananabread, the mess I call my craftroom and our trial Hello Fresh Box

Abby's new harness, lunch in the garden and the start of a new crochet-project

My mother-in-laws birthday. With Abby Wan Kenobi

Monday morning coffee, more garden sitting , Abby's first time in the basket on my bike and studying..

Lazyness all around; ratties in their hammock and Abby sleeping. My first tiny crochet-project. And our Albert Heijn "garden"

More bananabread; with peanutbutter this time, a coffeedate with my mother-in-law who refuses to be in pictures XD and the finished shawl.

So that's it for February.
I really love seeing all of those moments back already =)

Project Life 2015; January

After dipping my toe into the whole Project Life thing last summer ( you can read about that HERE)
I'm going for it and doing this whole year.

To save on processing costs I'm having my pictures printed in monthly batches so I'm always a month behind with my lay-outs.
Today I'm sharing my January pages.

My frontpage: not quite shure of it but i'm sticking with it...

On the left: a quote from my flow daily quote calender.
On the right: week 1: reading in  bed, a thursday 3 and shopping in Amsterdam

A close up of week 1.

 Week 2:
On the left: my tarot year spread, walking with Abby and studying

The right side of week 2:
Another thursday 3, an afternoon at The Beiaard and a currently card.

Week 3:
All of my different notebooks and planners for this year, my one-line-a-day journal bed time routine, visiting the camingfair; abby wasn't allowed to walk around. The store ave had some problems with dogs peeing on tents in the past..  But in a shoppingcart she was able to come in.

And the cowl my mom made me. And sent me by mail from Germany.

Week 4: We went on a small vacation: to a bungalowpark in Drenthe ( about a 2 hours drive away) I finally rememberd to snap a selfie during the trip. We travel a lot by car together ( we have friends and family all around Holland) and I always love those roadtrips.

Our vacation mostly consisted of Nico reading , Abby napping in the most awkward positions and me crocheting.. Oh and swimming in the huge pool inside a tropical dome. No pictures of that though ;-)
I also attached a map of the bungalowpark.

More of week 4: another thursday 3 and some pictures of our walk around the forest in Emmen. The pile of rocks is called a "hunnebed"; and ancient gravehill. It was the first snow of the year for us and it was lovely. And Abby had a ball bouncing around and racing at full speed.

More week 4: It was a week filled with so much fun that I needed more pages. I added the map from our walk. And documented the snow we had. We don't have a lot of snow here so it's always a bit special. On our last night we went out to dinner and I had to make my own Mojito. That was quite fun. We also played some pool. I'm really not that good but it's always fun.

Week 5: Back Home. Our monday consisted of packing up and going home. Best bit of coming home: finally having a latte again! In the mug I bought in Emmen. I also documented a bit of food this week: Chilli Con Carne and Chicken with Black Bean sauce and rice.

Week 5 part 2: Another thursday 3, a very cold morning on my way to work and we had a doggy-date with friends and their bullterriĆ«r; a nice walk and lunch at grandcafe Turf.

So that was January.
As I'm quite new to this it's a very steep learning curve.
I already learned I need to take more pictures and have more of them printed.
And I've learned that I'm quite capable of making some cards myself.
Also: I have way to much of the wrong stuff. And not enough of the right bits and pieces.

It will be nice to see my pages evolve over the year!

Project Summer Life

As you can read HERE I decided to use the Project Life system to document my summer.
With fall suddenly in full swing I finished the final pages last friday.
I decided to print all of my September photos in one batch. This meant I got to save on proccessing costs.

I'm always a bit sad when summer is over. I am a real summer-person. This time the end of summer does not only mean the end of fabuous weather, endless hours of sunbathing, bbq's with friends and all of those summer pleasures.
It also means the end of my mini project life.
I had so much fun doing this. And it was just as easy as it says on the box..
It is the perfect option for everyone who wants to document their lives but does not always have enough time. You can totally adapt the lay-out to your needs and can make it as simple or extravagant as you wish. Or have time for.

I'm also quite proud of myself for finishing this project! For those of you who have been reading here for a while, you know finishing projects isn't really my thing ;-)

And now, I will share the final pages of this project..
( you can find the earlier pages HERE)

On the right: we had hale in august.. brrr... And the dragonboat races during the Waterweek here in Hoorn.
On the left: Our garden and Abby when she got stuck between the couch and the radiator. Like every responsible bully-owner I took a picture before helping her..

On the left; My trip to the scrapbookfair in 's Hertogenbosch.
on the left; Nico and Abby enjoying some stewed pears together and my first zippered sewingproject

On the left: the ratty-boys
On the right: the yearly fair in Middenbeemster and a night of playing Magic

On the left: working on my very first custom Etsy order. And Abby meeting a friends baby for the first time ( she doesn't want her kid all over the internet hence the cover up). Abby loved the baby!
On the right: we went to see "Guardians of the Galaxy" It was awesome!

On the left: being lazy in the garden; Abby and Nico are giving our new campingbeds a try. And a thursday 3.
On the right: Wearing shorts end of septemer is awesome! And some flatty-ratties..

On the left: having a Magic- night with friends: I got my butt kicked.. multiple times..
On the right: Our mini-campingtrip for my aunts 50th birthday.

I made a full page of the glass mug I finally scored after a whole summer of them being sold out.  But I'm ready for next years summer!

I have had so much fun doing this that I decided to try and do a whole year starting january 2015.
Still debating wether or not I'm going bigger and try the 12x12 thing or that I'm sticking to this smaller size. I still have some time to figure that out.
As for now, all this album needs is a label of the side and then my first project life is officially done!

Project Life Summer Mini

One thing I really want to do is do a full year of Project Life.
But at the moment .. that's not going to happen.
I know myself well enough to say that I get bored easily and will get behind.. even further behind..... and then give it up all together. Thus leaving me with another half finished project thats nagging me.

But all of the project life stuff on Instagram is so pretty.. And everyone makes it sound so easy.
And the cute journaling cards!
I couldn't resist!

But I'm only doing it to document my summer. As a kind of test-run.
And to have an excuse to get those cute supplies obviously ;-)

I wanted to keep it small so instead of an "regular" 12 x 12 inch album I opted for a smaller Sn@p 6x8 inch album. I added some 3x4 inch sheet protectors and a pack of 4x6 inch and 3x4 inch mixed sheet protectors. All from Sn@p.
I couldn't justify the cost of a full Project Life Core kit so I opted for a mini kit, The "Cut & Paste" edition to be precise. All of te other papers, embellishments and random bits and pieces are from my stash.

Another issue was how was I going to print the photo's? I started printing them out myself on our "big"Canon printer but that was such a frustrating proces. The paper wouldn't load properly, the printing programm cropped photo's on it's own... and all of the cutting!! I did some investigating into a small Canon Selphy but quickly discovered that it would be an expensive option. So I've had the latest batch printend at HEMA.
I can just upload all the photo's on their website ( I can even upload the photo's directly from my Instagram feed)  and pick them up 2 days later at their store near me.
I'm really happy with this solution.

Today I'm sharing the pages I've made so far. I'm proud to say that I'm all up to date!
Note: please excuse the glare of some lay-out's. I haven't quite figured out how best to photograph them.. if you have any tips on that.. please let me know.

Having coffee with my mother-in-law and nephew

Visiting Ravensburg with Abby drinking form a fountain, quite a thing for a little doggie who is afraid of running water.. and a parking ticket stub

My mom and her boyfriend at their house in Germany.. a fixer-upper.. big time..

a view of the fixer-upper house and Nico at work. Back home we went to the fair and Nico won me a unicorn. And a thursday 3 from Amsterdam.
The start of August in my Bullet Journal and fireworks at the fair with my lovely nephew.

Nico and my Nephew playing with lego's , a lazy sunday and pizza for dinner because nobody wanted to cook..

The crappy weather we've been having; hail on saturday and better weather on sunday with dragonboat races here in Hoorn.

I'm really happy with most of the lay-out's so far.
And is really is as easy as everyone keeps saying. With our campingtrip and everything a was a bit behind ( 3 weeks I think) but I managed to get all up to date in one sitting of about 1,5 hours. So that's awesome!

I do however need to remember to snap more pictures.
I will keep this album going until the 23rd of september. That's the official start of the fall.
I really think I can finish this!
